February 2007

Dear Faithful Friends,

I’m writing from the Dallas-Fort Worth area, where I’ve been attending the Winter meeting of the Baptist Bible Fellowship International.  Tomorrow I fly back to Detroit to speak for a men’s prayer breakfast Saturday morning before flying back to speak Sunday in the Houston, Texas area.  While it’s been a busy month, it’s been a productive month!

First, I’m negotiating with my friends Gail and Tom Gritts in Wolverhampton to sublet their house while they’re back in the states on furlough until January 2008.  This delays moving all of my belongings right away, but gives me several months to live in the area, and look around for a permanent residence in the Birmingham (England) area. 

Second, last month I received my highest support to-date, which has now climbed to approximately 30% of what is needed.  In addition, last week it was confirmed at I have an organization that will underwrite the cost of my housing initially, as well as temporarily underwrite the difference between what I need each month and what actually comes in!

I don’t want that to become a false hope, but it will allow me to get into England in June, a critical time for several events that need to begin this summer and into the Fall.  Once I establish several key events, I’ll be able to return to the States for a few weeks in the Fall to continue to raise full support.

Now, (since the last paragraph), I’m writing from Washington-Reagan – still on my way back to Detroit, but delayed.  It’s amazing how God uses even the “delays” in life.  I sat down a few minutes ago beside a USAF Major (retired), but who is still working in his field.  As we chatted about our respective vocations, he asked if I sent out monthly newsletters, and gave me his personal email, stating that “We support several missionary endeavors.”  Again, I marvel at how God works out what He wants as we pursue His plan for our lives!

Finally, with summer looming large on the horizon, I’m planning a two-week excursion back to England on the weeks either side of Easter.  With many things to initiate on this trip, I need specific prayer support for this venture – as well as continued prayers for the remaining 65-70% of my financial support, and for filling the remainder of my schedule in April, May, September and October.

I’ll return in the early Fall for a few weeks of missions conferences, during which time I hope to secure the remainder of any monthly support still needed, as well as load all that I still own at that time into a container that will be bound for Britain!
