March 2007

Dear Faithful Partners –

Although the end-of-the-month is still a few days away, I wanted to take this Saturday afternoon to pause, reflect, and write to you about what has been transpiring during March in my quest to raise my support and relocate to Great Britain during June 2007! But since time has been flying rapidly by me, the end of the month will be here before I can get this out to you!

The opening Sunday of March began in Pittsburgh (PA) with Pastor Bill Howe and the fine folks of the Rolling Hills Baptist Church for their missions emphasis month. RHBC will take me on for support if they reach their faith promise missions offering goal.

From Pittsburgh, I headed to East Longmeadow (MA) to spend five days in the missions conference of the First Baptist Church, and my best friend Pastor David Brown. FBC is my sending church and we enjoyed a precious time together, especially the evening of my “commissioning.” This forward-thinking and generous church has committed to begin monthly support.

Saturday, March 10, was a long drive-day to get into Rittman (OH) for a missions emphasis Sunday with Pastor Jerry Burton and the Calvary Baptist Church. Calvary Baptist also committed to monthly support, assuming they are able to real their faith promise offering goal for this year.

After spending a few days catching up on everything at home in Waterford (MI), my itinerary had me in Maccleney (FL), to be with my friend (formerly of Flint, Michigan) – Dan Powers and his wife Gail – and the welcoming congregants at Emmanuel Baptist Church. What an exciting time we enjoyed in this growing church just west of Jacksonville. Pastor Powers also committed to monthly support – with the amount depending on their faith promise offering.

I’ll end the month of March here in the Detroit area – Sunday morning, March 25 in Garden City, with Community Baptist Church and my long-time friends Jon and Nancy Allen. Sunday evening Pastor Glen Tatterson and the Flint Baptist Temple, Flint (MI), will host my preaching/presentation on that to which God is calling me in Great Britain.

Please continue to pray that God will open doors here in the USA for supporting churches. In the last 30 days, commitments of support have increased from 30% last month to 40% this month. But I need a miracle in the next 60 days … the additional 60% before I leave in June! Will you pray with me for that miracle?
